The B2B Supplier's GEO Checklist
Work through these ten checks to see, roughly, where you stand in AI answers. They are the same starting points we run on a paid audit.
- Ask the engines about yourself. Put your top three buyer questions into ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Are you named? Is a competitor?
- Check who is named. List the competitors the AI recommends instead. They are your benchmark.
- Trace the sources. In Perplexity or AI Overviews, note which pages the answer cites. Those are the sources you need to be on.
- Open your robots.txt. Are you accidentally blocking AI crawlers (GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot)? If you want to be cited, let them in.
- Check your structured data. Do your key pages have Organization and Product/Service schema? Most B2B sites don't.
- Read your homepage as a stranger. Does it state plainly what you supply, to whom, and where? Models need unambiguous facts.
- Find your "best X for Y" page. Do you have content that directly answers your buyers' actual questions? If not, that's a gap.
- Audit your third-party presence. Are you in the trade roundups, directories and review sites buyers (and models) trust?
- Check your reviews. Volume, recency, and the words used — the language in reviews is what gets matched to buyer intent.
- Confirm your entity is consistent. Is your name, description and category the same everywhere online? Inconsistency confuses the models.
If you scored badly on more than a few of these, you are not alone — and that's the opportunity. Request a free audit and we'll turn this rough check into a measured scorecard.
